Experience a unique seven-night journey aboard the Mövenpick SS Misr along the Nile, exploring the archaeological wonders of Upper Egypt while enjoying the ambience of one of the river’s most historic vessels. Originally built in 1918 and later transformed into King Farouk’s private yacht, the SS Misr was restored and returned to service in 2006 as a five-star heritage cruise ship. Its interiors elegantly blend European style with traditional Egyptian influences, setting it apart from typical Nile cruisers.
Sailing round-trip from Luxor, the itinerary includes visits to the magnificent temples of Karnak and Luxor before heading south through Esna to Edfu and Kom Ombo. In Aswan, you’ll discover the High Dam, the beautiful Philae Temple, and the Unfinished Obelisk, along with a traditional felucca ride around Kitchener Island.
On your return journey, you will have more opportunities to explore the ancient sites of Upper Egypt, including Kom Ombo Temple and the treasures of Luxor’s West Bank, which features the Valley of the Kings and Queens, as well as the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Between excursions, unwind aboard this intimate vessel, which accommodates just 16 cabins and eight suites, each with a private balcony overlooking the Nile.
