Full Itinerary

Arrival in Oporto

Day 1

Upon arrival in Oporto you will meet your local driver and be transported to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a delicious meal at a traditional Fado house - a small restaurant with a vibrant local atmosphere. Spend three nights at the 4* Carris Hotel or 5* Infante de Sagres Hotel (or similar).

Oporto

Day 2

In the morning embark on a 3-hour walking tour of the city, with help from an English-speaking guide. Explore the many historical and culturally significant landmarks, including many beautiful churches, monuments and cathedrals. You will also visit the charming UNESCO Heritage Ribeira district which has a friendly local atmosphere, with the occasional street performance and plenty of opportunities to enjoy a glass of port wine. From there, take in the breathtaking views straight from the Dom Luis I bridge before visiting a local wine cellar for a private tasting session.

Douro Valley

Day 3

After a hearty breakfast, you will depart for one of the most scenic destinations in Portugal, the unforgettable Douro Valley. Featuring long stretches of rolling green hills and glimpses of the Douro River, you will want to take plenty of photographs during your visit here. You will also get to participate in a wine-tasting session at a local Quinta – a traditional rural mansion of historical significance. After a restaurant lunch, enjoy a one-hour cruise along the Douro River before your return to your hotel in Oporto.

Douro - Coimbra - Lisbon

Day 4

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and proceed to the city of Coimbra. Often referred to as the ‘City of Students,’ Coimbra is home to one of the oldest universities in Europe, and the facility itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Whilst here, enjoy free time at leisure and learn about the rich culture and history of this enriching place. Following your tour of Coimbra, head to Lisbon and check in to your hotel. Spend three nights at the 4* Avani Liberdade or 5* Montebelo Vista Alegre (or similar).

Lisbon

Day 5

The largest and most populated city in Portugal, Lisbon is a melting pot of ancient architecture, modern conveniences, and forward-thinking design philosophies, all rolled into one unforgettable experience. Take the time to explore the little nooks and crannies that this urban metropolis has to offer. Visit historic landmarks like the Praça do Comércio, a prominent square with a magnificent bronze equestrian state of King José I. During your travels on foot, be sure to stop by a sidewalk café for a beverage and a light snack.

Sintra - Belém

Day 6

In the morning, transfer from Lisbon to Sintra, a journey of around 45 minutes. Famous for its fairytale-like setting - enchanting forests, grandiose palaces, and colourful architecture - walking around Sintra is like stepping into the pages of a classic children’s novel. During your time here, you will be guided through the hills and forests as well as the gardens, ancient monuments, and the Pena Palace. Following this, proceed to the Belém district, where you will have the chance to enjoy some famous pasteis de nata and explore the Monastery of the Hieronymites, a 15th century building located near the Tagus River.

Day 7
