Day 1 | Arrival in Sri Lanka
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport where you will be met by your chauffeur guide and transferred to the laid-back coastal town of Negombo. Known for its strong seafood heritage and traditional fishing communities, Negombo offers the perfect introduction to Sri Lanka’s coastal life. After check-in, enjoy time to unwind by the beach before a welcome seafood dinner at a local beachside restaurant. Overnight in the Negombo area.

Day 2 | Negombo - Kandy
Begin your morning at the vibrant Negombo Fish Market, one of the busiest in the country. Watch fishermen auction the daily catch, observe traditional fish-drying processes, and soak up the energetic atmosphere of this coastal trading hub. Enjoy a local breakfast of hoppers served with coconut sambol and spicy lunu miris. Travel inland towards Kandy, pausing at a spice garden in Mawanella where you’ll walk through cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper and cardamom groves. A live cooking demonstration follows, showcasing how these spices are used in traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, ending with a flavourful lunch. Continue to Kandy and check in. Day 3 | Kandy
Join a local chef for a guided tour of Kandy Central Market where stalls overflow with fresh produce, spices, herbs and condiments unique to the hill country. Choose your ingredients for today’s cooking class before heading to a local home, where you’ll learn how to prepare Kandyan specialities such as jackfruit curry, creamy dhal, aubergine pickle and fragrant rice. In the afternoon, visit the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of Buddhism’s most sacred sites. Later, experience a Kandyan cultural performance featuring drums, dance and traditional costumes. Day 4 | Dambulla
Travel to Dambulla, stopping along the way for a hands-on village encounter. Drift across a quiet lake by canoe, ride a traditional bullock cart through the countryside, and learn how villagers prepare meals over open fires using fresh produce from their gardens. Enjoy a rustic lunch cooked the authentic Sri Lankan way. Arrive and check into your lakeside accommodation near Sigiriya, surrounded by tranquil scenery and abundant birdlife. Travel south towards the historic city of Galle. Along the way, visit a working cinnamon plantation where you’ll learn about harvesting, peeling and rolling the world-famous Ceylon cinnamon. Smell the fresh bark, taste the pure cinnamon tea, and discover why this aromatic spice is treasured worldwide. Continue to Galle and settle into your accommodation inside or near the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort.
