From the summit, sweeping desert views stretch across the Roman camps and the glittering Dead Sea. A visit is then made to the village of Ein Karem, a place of serene beauty and Christian tradition, believed to be the birthplace of John the Baptist. In the afternoon the tour continues to Bethlehem, where the Church of the Nativity and Manger Square mark the birthplace of Jesus. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Walk through its winding streets to the Western Wall and gaze upon the Temple Mount, before following the Via Dolorosa, the Way of the Cross, towards Calvary and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where both the Crucifixion and the Tomb of the Resurrection are honoured. Just outside the walls, Mount Zion reveals the traditional tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper. A panoramic view from the Mount of Olives offers a breathtaking perspective of Jerusalem, sacred to Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Nearby, the Garden of Gethsemane recalls the place of Judas’ betrayal of Jesus. Later, time is spent exploring the vibrant Mahane Yehuda market, alive with colour, flavours and atmosphere. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 5 | Beit She'an - Golan Heights - Tiberias
Departing Jerusalem, the journey heads north, passing by Jericho, thought to be the oldest city in the world, before travelling through the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean. Here lie the extensive remains of a beautifully preserved Roman city, where streets, theatres and baths evoke life in antiquity. Continuing into the Golan Heights, there is an opportunity to enjoy an Israeli wine country experience, with a guided tour and tasting that introduces the unique character of the region’s wines. Travelling further across the Golan, views open over Druze villages, former Syrian fortifications and, on clear days, Mount Hermon and into Syria. The road then descends into the Hula Valley before reaching the shores of the Sea of Galilee and the city of Tiberias. Overnight in Tiberias.

Day 6 | Sea of Galilee - Nazareth
A day devoted to the Galilee begins along the shoreline of the lake. At Capernaum, the remains of an ancient synagogue recall the time of Jesus, while the Mount of Beatitudes marks the site of the Sermon on the Mount. At Tabgha, the mosaic of loaves and fishes commemorates the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand. There is an option to sail across the Sea of Galilee, experiencing the tranquillity of waters that appear almost unchanged for two millennia (subject to conditions and additional fee). The tour then continues to Nazareth, visiting the Church of the Annunciation and associated Christian sites, before returning to Tiberias. Overnight in Tiberias.

Continuing south, the road ascends Mount Carmel for sweeping views over Haifa, the golden-domed Baha’i Shrine, and the terraced Persian Gardens that cascade towards the Mediterranean. Along the coast lies Caesarea, the masterpiece of Herod the Great, where the Roman theatre and Crusader fortress stand as reminders of centuries of power and conflict. The day concludes with a short tour of Tel Aviv, including the ancient port of Jaffa, before returning for an overnight stay in Tel Aviv.
