Day 1 | Arrival in Tunisia
Upon arrival at Tunis or Enfidha Airport, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel in the Tunis area. Take the evening to unwind after your journey and enjoy a leisurely dinner at your hotel.

Day 2 | Tunis - Carthage - Sidi Bou Said
Begin your Tunisian adventure with a guided tour of Tunis, the capital where ancient heritage meets modern life. Visit the Bardo Museum, one of North Africa’s finest, renowned for its extraordinary collection of Roman mosaics and artefacts from Tunisia’s long and diverse history. Stroll through the old medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where winding alleys reveal traditional souks, ornate doorways, and lively local life. In the afternoon, travel to the ancient city of Carthage, once the seat of the powerful Carthaginian Empire. Explore its impressive ruins, including the Antonine Baths and Byrsa Hill and imagine the city’s glory during the time of Hannibal. End the day in the picture-perfect village of Sidi Bou Said, a coastal haven famed for its whitewashed houses with cobalt blue doors, cobblestone streets and stunning sea views, the ideal spot for a traditional mint tea overlooking the Mediterranean.

Day 3 | Kairouan - Tozeur
After breakfast, journey inland to Kairouan, Tunisia’s spiritual heart and the fourth holiest city in Islam. Visit the Great Mosque of Okba, a masterpiece of early Islamic architecture, the Aghlabite Basins, ingenious 9th-century water reservoirs and the Mausoleum of Sidi Sahbi, known as the “Barber’s Mosque”. Wander the old medina, where traditional carpet weavers still practise their craft. Continue south across changing landscapes to Tozeur, the gateway to the Sahara oasis region. Arrive in time to relax and enjoy dinner at your hotel.

Day 4 | Mountain Oasis of Tozeur
Today, explore the dramatic mountain oasis of Chebika, Tamerza, and Mides, each nestled against the rugged Atlas foothills. Chebika offers spectacular palm-fringed canyons and cool springs; Tamerza is known for its waterfalls and abandoned old village, while Mides, perched on a cliff, overlooks breathtaking gorges that have served as film locations for famous movies such as The English Patient. Return to Tozeur to discover its old town, with its distinctive brick architecture and palm-lined streets, and visit the lush oasis irrigated by ancient water channels.

Day 5 | Chott El Jerid - Douz
Travel across the vast, shimmering expanse of Chott El Jerid, Tunisia’s great salt lake, a surreal landscape where mirages dance on the horizon. Stop for photos at this otherworldly site before continuing to Douz, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara”. In the afternoon, relax at your hotel or take an optional (additional cost) camel or 4x4 ride into the sand dunes, where the sunset paints the desert in shades of gold and rose.

Day 6 | Douz - Matmata - El Jem - Sousse
After breakfast, head north to Matmata, famous for its troglodyte houses, traditional underground dwellings carved into soft sandstone. Visit a Berber family home to learn about their ancient way of life and hospitality. Continue to El Jem, where you’ll be awed by the Roman amphitheatre, one of the best-preserved in the world, once seating up to 35,000 spectators. Visit the nearby museum, which houses beautiful Roman mosaics and artefacts. Travel onward to the coastal city of Sousse, where you’ll check in and enjoy dinner by the Mediterranean.

Day 7 | Sousse - Monastir
This morning, explore Sousse, an ancient port city with a rich history dating back to Phoenician times. Visit the Sousse Archaeological Museum, housed in a former kasbah, with impressive mosaics rivaling those of Bardo. Stroll through the UNESCO-listed medina, its narrow streets lined with souks selling spices, carpets and ceramics. Visit the Great Mosque and the Ribat, an early Islamic fortress that once guarded the coastline. In the afternoon, travel to Monastir, the birthplace of Tunisia’s first president, Habib Bourguiba. Visit the Mausoleum of Bourguiba and the imposing Ribat of Monastir, a fortress offering panoramic sea views. Return to Sousse for your final evening by the sea.
