Cyprus has topped the latest European bathing water quality rankings, reinforcing its reputation as one of the Mediterranean’s leading beach destinations.
The latest Bathing Water Quality Report from the European Environment Agency (EEA) ranks Cyprus as the top country in Europe for bathing water quality, with every monitored beach rated ‘Excellent’.
In total, 123 coastal bathing waters were assessed across the island, and all 123 met the highest water-quality standards, giving Cyprus a perfect score of 100%.

The EEA conducts annual assessments of bathing waters across Europe, measuring water quality against strict microbiological standards. These assessments help ensure that beaches are safe for swimming and provide holidaymakers with trusted, independent information.
For the 2025 bathing season, every monitored beach in Cyprus achieved the highest available classification, making it one of the few destinations in Europe to achieve a flawless result.
