Location
Mlini is a small town, situated 8 kilometres from Dubrovnik, which is famous for its rich vegetation, beautiful beaches and stunning landscapes. Originally a small fishing village it has become a popular destination for those who seek a peaceful holiday that is closely connected to Dubrovnik’s rich cultural heritage. The village itself is small with a population of around 1000 inhabitants.

With a temperate climate, it offers plenty of sunshine throughout the year. It has more than 250 days of sunshine per year, ensuring near-perfect weather conditions and a warm sea. The hottest months of the year are June, July and August when temperatures average around 25 degrees Celsius.
History and Culture
Previously known as Molina, it was a small village famous for its thriving mill trade that supplied merchants from the nearby city of Dubrovnik with goods to send around the world. It also famously supplied Dubrovnik with water, with two boats carrying drinking water between the two cities in the 15th century. Apart from that, it was generally a small picturesque village that was a popular holiday destination for the inhabitants of Dubrovnik; the kind of place where you can escape city life and relax.
Cuisine
Sharing its culinary history with the nearby town of Dubrovnik it is especially good for seafood. Crni rižot (Black Risotto), is made with squid ink and can be found in almost every restaurant; Mušule na buzaru (stewed muscles) are made using Italian flavours, while fresh oysters abound throughout the region, ideal for people who want that unique taste of the sea. Mlini is also known for the quality of its wine, with delicious local vintages available on every menu.
