Full Itinerary

Olbia - Costa Smeralda

Day 1

Once you arrive at Olbia Airport, transfer to your hotel and check in. Spend your first day exploring the town of Costa Smeralda, a gorgeous coastal region with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea and a vibrant sun-soaked atmosphere. Spend three nights at Cala Cuncheddi (or similar).

Costa Smeralda

Day 2

After breakfast, go on a guided tour of Costa Smeralda. Take the opportunity to visit the places you may have missed on the first day. And follow your tour guide’s lead to visit places like San Pantaleo, which features various local markets and rural buildings. Additionally, be sure to visit the archeological site of Li Muri, which features a well-preserved ancient necropolis.

Costa Smeralda

Day 3

After breakfast, enjoy one last free day of leisure in Costa Smeralda. Be sure to enquire with your tour guide about other optional landmarks to visit and activities to participate in. They will be happy to assist you. Some popular landmarks you can visit include the Porto Cervo seaside resort, the Porto Rotondo port, and Palau, a small yet pleasant beach resort decorated with colourful houses.

Costa Smeralda - Barbagia

Day 4

After breakfast, depart Costa Smeralda and proceed to Barbagia. The region of Barbagia is a vast mountain region, featuring pockets of tiny villages. It was named by the scholar and philosopher Cicero, who mistook the locals for barbarians but who were actually evading the onslaught of the Carthaginians and Romans. Upon arriving at Barbagia, enjoy free leisure of the area. The region is quite popular for its outdoor activities. These include visiting the nearby villages, with the Supramonte offering tremendous views of the mountain ranges and the forest of Montes providing views from the top of Mount Novu. You can also learn about barbarian culture by visiting the Museum of Sardinian Life and the Traditions of Nuro buildings. Spend one night at Su Gologone (or similar).

Barbagia - Ogliastra

Day 5

In the morning, after breakfast, depart Barbagia and head to Ogliastra. On the way there, visit Su Gorropa – a deep chasm that features unique rock formations (caused by natural evosion, as a result of the waters of the Flumineddu River) and plenty of engaging hiking trails. You will also explore the area by jeep, making for an exciting journey full of rocky, unpredictable terrain and stunning panoramic views. Arrive in Ogliastra. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring the city and becoming acquainted with the local shops, markets, and local landmarks. Spend three nights at Lanthia Resort (or similar).

Ogliastra - Golfo Di Orosei

Day 6

After breakfast, head towards Golfo Di Orosei and enjoy a full day of exploring this region. Featuring overbearing mountain peaks, twisting and winding trekking trails, and impressive views of the Mediterranean Sea, Golfo Di Orosei is a nature lover’s paradise. By far, the best way to enjoy this area is to partake in a fishing journey via boat. Starting at around 9am, you will board a well-equipped boat and be taken to some of the best beaches in Golfo Di Orosei. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to stop and either go for a swim or try to catch some fish. Your English-speaking tour guides will also show you the ropes if you need help with mastering the basics of fishing.

Ogliastra - Cala Sisine

Day 7

After breakfast, make your way to Cala Sisine and partake in an engaging quad bike adventure. Along the way, you will visit the Cala Sisine beach, along with the Codula de Sisine and the Planu ‘e Murta. Whilst at the beach, you will have the chance to lounge on the sand and go for a swim in the waters. Following this, enjoy a traditional dinner prepared by local shepherds. You will enjoy their warm and welcoming hospitality, as well as learn about what life is like living as a shepherd. The cuisine will consist of freshly grown vegetables and locally sourced meats, with vegetarian options available. Common dishes served there include homemade bread, cheese, sausage, and red wine.

Ogliastra - Villasimius

Day 8

Ready for more luscious, crystalline beaches? Today is your lucky day. After breakfast, make your way to Villasimius, a popular beach destination that features long stretches of glorious golden sand and crystal-clear waters. And with a population of less than 4,000 people, it’s the kind of beach that will offer you the peace and serenity that you deserve. Some of the most popular beaches along the coastline include Porto sa Ruxi, Campus, and Campulongu. You may also spot local wildlife during your visit here, including pink flamingos and other rare bird species. Spend three nights at Pillman Almar Timi Ama Resort & Spa (or similar).

Villasimius

Day 9

After breakfast, enjoy a free day of leisure in Villasimius. Take the opportunity to relish in more beaches, or you can visit some of the destinations you may have missed the previous day. Other notable beaches include Punta Molentis, which is unique for its medium-sized sand pebbles (replicating the texture of rice), and Porto Giunco, which is one of the more accessible beaches in the area.

Cagliari

Day 10

After breakfast, participate in a guided day tour of Cagliari, one of the largest and most populous cities in Sardinia (with a population of around 430,000 people). With a history that dates back to thousands of years, Cagliari is full of culturally significant buildings and landmarks, including the Cathedral of Santa Maria and the Palazzo Regio. You can also visit the medieval towers of San Pancrazio and Dell ‘Elefante. Following this, participate in a winery tour at a nearby vineyard, called the Argiolas Winery. Whilst here, you will be guided through the vineyards and olive groves, and then get the chance to sample some local produce.

Villasimius - Cagliari

Day 11

After breakfast, check out of your hotel and proceed to Cagliari Airport. Your journey officially ends here.
