Casablanca & Rabat

Day 2

Your day will begin by meeting with your driver/guide for a brief orientation tour of Casablanca's habbous and corniche, before visiting the inside of the Hassan II Mosque, which was constructed by the late King Hassan II. Morocco's capital and largest city, Casablanca, is situated in the country's central-western corner, close to the Atlantic Ocean. It is the biggest city in the Maghreb and one of the biggest and most significant in all of Africa, both in terms of economy and population. When visiting the Hassan II Mosque, the size of it strikes you as you stand dwarfed by one of the enormous doors and look up at the 210-meter-tall minaret, which took six years and 12,000 workers to construct (tower). There is enough room for 80,000 worshippers outside and 25,000 more inside, under a retractable roof.

From there, your journey will take you to Rabat, the capital of the imperial state, where you will receive a wonderful tour of the royal palace, constructed in 1864 and built around vibrant, enormous gardens and inside courtyards, the buildings are all covered with saddleback roofs of green tiles that are constructed like a conventional city house. You will also explore the Mellah, the mausoleum of Mohamed V, the Hassan Tower, and the Oudayas from the outside. The history of Rabat is deeply ingrained in its culture. Its squares and streets are adorned with several masterpieces.

After a day of exploration, you can look forward to dinner at your Rabat hotel and a relaxing stay before the tour continues in the morning.
